I saw these spider larvae spider ball 'things at kmart and thought- I can do better than that.
The ones I saw are here. Not a bad price, but I can do far better with the same $4. Here is a pic of them- rough size is 7x4 inches
1 empty milk jug, 2 bags of spider webs and lots of fake spiders later.... I have this:
and heres the how to:
take a clean, empty milk jug (preferably the translucent or clear kind) and start wrapping it in spider webs! I used 2 packages. Make sure you criss cross. I used a spray adhesive (just a real quick spray around, just to help make it stick without sliding. using regular glue would work to, just spread it thin- all you want to do is help secure the cobwebs as you work your way around. Make sure you leave enough webbing to create a tail of sorts to be able to hang it. the webbing stretches really easy (it is designed for that, after all) but can break if you get it too thin.
After I had all the webbing on, a gave it another quick once over with the spray adhesive, and stuck on small plastic spiders.
The hardest part for me was trying to decide where to hang it. It is on our porch, the 'shelf' beneath it is where we put our pumpkins/ jack o lanterns! Total cost: $2, as everything else I had on hand.
milk jug (on hand)
spider webbing - 2 packages- $2
spray adhesive (on hand)
plastic spiders (on hand)
big fuzzy spider (on hand, but I bought it last week at dollar general for $3)
I love this :) I like your "spooky pictures" project too! Very classy-cool!
